Finger Painting      Hangman      Flashcards

Finger Painting......

A cheap and easy activity that younger kids will love.  You just need papers, paint and wet wipes for cleaning.  Squeeze a little of different colored non-toxic paints into some plastic containers and let your child experiment with them.  You don't have to be over-concerned if the tree painted is not green.  Just let you kid's imaginations run!  Lots of encouragement will help too.  The only "disadvantage" of dealing with paint is that it can get quite messy, especially with very young kids.  My 2-year old ended up with paints in her clothes and face.  It also takes a while to clean the paint off her fingers and nails.

For a "mess free" finger painting, I highly recommend "Color Wonder Fingerpaints" by Crayola (Mar 2006 price: $12).  I got mine from Early Learning Center (3rd floor, Suntec City).

Crayola Color Wonder Fingerpaints Coloring Book

Product review:

Package (picture on the left) includes a pack of 6 finger paints and a 24 page coloring book (picture on the right).  The non-toxic paints will only work on the specially processed papers.  So you don't have to worry getting paint around your house while enjoying the activity.  Crayola has a full range of mess free products including finger paints, markers, stamps and of course, their specially treated papers.  A refill of paints or papers/book costs about $8, which is rather affordable.

Before and after look of a page of the coloring book.  The colored area has been specially treated so that colors only show up when the finger paint is applied to this area.
